Kudos to Barton - that's EXCELLENT news. I finally discarded my ancient Beretvas and Tetzlaff orange-books two years ago (under duress), when forced to downsize my office to a cubicle with little storage. But I referred to them on a regular basis for many years after IBM published them, and I frequently regret having compressed my library. In my geek-dreams, I've often wished those talents could be harnessed for Linux's benefit. William Tetzlaff has been publishing disk-performance work for video systems for some years. I'd love to see either or both of them working on Linux disk issues! Ross Patterson Computer Associates
