There seems to be a bit more: One line is read from the standard input, and the first word is assigned to the first name, the sec- ond word to the second name, and so on, with left- over words and their intervening separators assigned to the last name. With just one name, I think that also is the last name, and this is what I see happening. It looks like my problem is that the "eval" drops anything from the "#" but I worry there will be more. Rob
