I would expect 2.0.39 or 1.3.26 to work with both kernel series. Mark Post

It backs the existing one up, but it does replace it. I am not sure if the RTR folks read this forum, but they should be contacted. Wholesale module replacement isn't how I'd implement this type of 'compatibility' change. Since any attempt to patch 1.3.19 will remove any changes made to support the frontpage extentions, this is just not a good plan. Mark, what is the newest level of apache that works with a 2,2,x kernal and what's the latest for a 2.4.16 onwards? |---------+----------------------------> | | "Post, Mark K" | | | <[EMAIL PROTECTED]| | | m> | | | Sent by: Linux on| | | 390 Port | | | <[EMAIL PROTECTED]| | | IST.EDU> | | | | | | | | | 07/08/2002 02:34 | | | PM | | | Please respond to| | | Linux on 390 Port| | | | |---------+----------------------------> >--------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------| | | | To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | cc: | | Subject: Re: [Fwd: Microsoft FrontPage for zSeries] | >--------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------| A couple pretty interesting files in that gzipped tar file: 1/10/2002 11:11 AM 753,870 frontpage/version5.0/apache-fp/httpd 1/10/2002 10:26 AM 31,910 frontpage/version5.0/apache-fp/fp-patch-apache_1.3.19 I don't know if the install process replaces the httpd file or not. If it does, I would definitely _not_ want to be running Apache 1.3.19 on any servers exposed to a hostile network.
