How are they determining whether they are getting compression or not? Are
they running the IXFP Space Utilization utility? I have 9 Linux volumes (VM
minidisks) on an RVA X83 and the IXFP report shows a compression ratio for
these volumes to be between 3.5 and 5.4 to 1.

Subject: Linux data on IBM RVA

List-390 readers:
I have a customer writing their Linux data on an IBM Ramac Virtual Array
(RVA) which has its own outboard compression. They are finding that the
Linux data is not compressing at all. Has anyone else experienced this?
Any ideas?

Thanks
