I'm wondering if anyone has SLES running natively (that is, without VM) on a Flex-ES box?
I have the Partners in Development ThinkPad Flex-ES configuration, which is an IBM ThinkPad model T23 (1.2Ghz, 1G memory, 40G disk) and Flex-ES 6.15. It's run SuSE 7.0 in the past with no problems, but it generally won't work with any versions of the Linux 2.4 version of the LCS driver. If I bring the system up normally, it hangs for a few seconds at the load of lcs.o and then I see these messages: A partially successful startup read_devno=0x0e40 write_devno=0x0e41 was detected No LCS capable cards found The eth0 device then fails to initialize. After working with the folks at Fundamental Software (thanks, Gary), we found that if I physically unplugged the Ethernet cable from the machine, the driver would in fact load. If I plug the cable back in after the "ifconfig eth0 up" commands in /etc, the network then seems to work properly. Any ideas? Vince Re Computer Associates
