> I wonder what the odds of an MS-Linux distribution are?

My compliments to IBM for not producing an "IBM Linux" distro.
I fear that Microsoft will be much more disruptive to Linux.

IBM stood to gain more (still does, I say) from fostering Linux
as an invention of the Internet. Microsoft stands to gain as much
from disrupting Linux as from embracing it. I bet they will do both:
"embrace and extend", thus run-on (embrace) and destroy (extend).
And they have the monetary means (and marketing power) to do
the latter without harming themselves.

It is evident that IBM has fundamentally changed from the dominator
that it was in the 70s and 80s. IBM has fought hard in recent years
to change its corporate image, and has succeeded. It is evident that
Microsoft has not changed, and is still driven by its own goal of
domination. They are not yet hurt by their bad "monster" image.
