Currently running RH 7.2 in lpar mode (kernel: 2.4.9-37tape). We may be
getting z/VM in the future.

I started reading the Building Linux Systems under IBM VM book, and
maybe I had been working with a false assumption. Will I have to
rebuild my current image from a fresh installation, or can I use my
existing filesystems on my cdl formatted 3390 volumes in the z/VM
environment? Also, as far as switching the kernel to 2.4.9-37 (already
installed, note: not -37tape), is it just a matter of switching the
symlinks for module-info, System.map, and vmlinuz, changing the target
in zipl.conf to the new kernel, and re-running zipl ... or did I leave
something out?

Thanks all,
~ Daniel
