Maciek,

It looks like you have an out of date set of installation files. The GA
version of Red Hat at ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/7.2/en/os/s390/
has kernel-2.4.9-37.s390.rpm as the version to be installed. I would
recommend that you pull down everything again and see if you get better
results.

Subject: Problem during install (RedHat)

Hello everybody,

I have been trying to install Redhat 7.2 on my S/390 G5 (in an LPAR).
When the "rhsetup" tries to install kernel-tape-2.4.9-17.s390.rpm I get a
message:

Install: kernel-tape-2.4.9-17.s390.rpm
Warning: -i is obsolete and deprecated.
Warning: -m is deprecated; please use -F.

And then the systems hangs irrecoverably.
Does anyone know what is the source of the problem and/or how to solve it ?
I am sure that the package is not corrupt. I downloaded it three times and
every time its size was exactly the same.
Thanks for any hints.

Maciek
