Hi,

this APAR was mainly done for the may2002 - stream and the "access boxed
dasd" feature.

We started issuing a SNID as the first command to the device in order to
determine locking status with this stream. Before, we used SNID only after
a rejected SPID (to determine if a PGID was already set). Path grouping was
and is done on all multipath devices that support it.

Without this APAR, "access boxed dasd" will not work for minidisks; path
grouping is fine for all but minidisks. But you should still apply the
APAR.

Mit freundlichen Gren/Regards
