As with anything, "it depends."

What are your objectives?

If this is a just-learning-about-it project, and if you don't require
vendor support, Debian is easier to install than either SuSE or Red Hat,
comes with a relatively recent kernel, and is extremely easy to keep
up-to-date.  If you can provide a path to the network-at-large from your
Debian image (it doesn't have to be reversible--as long as port 80 can
get out to arbitrary locations you're fine) then installing it via the
network is very simple.

If you *do* want vendor support, then you're better off interrogating
each vendor about their pricing and support, and see which one will
provide a better fit for your needs.
