This functionality would require that DB2 for OS/390 have a Run Time client
available.  I do not know if that is the case.  Otherwise you would need the
whole database engine for simple client requests.  And, this may be
financially unrealistic.  It certainly works (I've done it from VSE), but
even there only the entire DB2 package is available.

We are pushing this for VM & VSE as well since the functionality of DB2 on
those operating systems is severely backlevelled.
