We currently run Lotus Notes on AIX. We intend to up grade to the next release when it comes available for some desired feature which escapes me at the moment and is not part of this query anyway. We currently have a 60GB application which is comprised of Clerk of the Courts transactions from which our folks read through and adjust property records to reflect the new ownership and such changes. There about 600 data bases comprising from 500 to 2000 tiff images each. My question; Is this a likely candidate for a Linux Lotus Notes application. There are about 30 active users accessing images all day long. There is active loading and unloading of images into new data bases and old data bases being moved to CD-ROM. The Notes server is also handling e-mail for about 75 users. Are there any significant look and or feel differences and are the release levels current from platform to platform. Are there any significant cost differences. The hardware is not a problem. I'm running a 2066-001 so theirs plenty of power.
