Mine shows:

more cpuinfo
vendor_id : IBM/S390
# processors : 1
bogomips per cpu: 26.16
processor 0: version = FF, identification = 010A1F, machine = 7060

more version
Linux version 2.4.7-SuSE-SMP ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 2.95.3
20010315
 (SuSE)) #1 SMP Tue Oct 30 22:39:07 GMT 2001

(On SuSE I guess it's /proc/cpuinfo...)

this is ok but it doesn't show me the model (h70, h30, etc.). I'll try the
idea of using the console facility as someone suggested. Would be nice to
just be able to do it from Linux...
