This is good news indeed. I've been using Red Hat Linux for years (15
releases!) and, following the release of 8.0, I've decided to look at
alternatives.

I've been doing some playing round with Debian on my PCs, and even now I
can see it offers a lot to developers and to people who would support
Linux systems.

The one thing that concerned me was uncertainty about support by ISVs -
not that I actually want commercial software for my own needs, but I'm
open to the idea my clients might.
