Red Hat implemented their installer in such a way that it does not have to
parse the output from the FTP server. SuSE did not do that. So, the Red
Hat installer will work with any FTP server. SuSE will _not_ work with
Microsoft-based FTP servers (usually. There are some exceptions.)

suse 7.2 install problem

i tried to install suse linux on z/VM using ftp

i am using serv-u ftp program on my desktop computer.(win2000)

serv-u ftp program makes my pc like as ftp server. so i don't need to
install
linux on my desktop computer.

the images (redhat, suse) are in the my pc

evering thing is fine when i install redhat linux on z/vm using serv-u ftp
program.

however , whenever i tried to install suse linux on z/vm ,using
ftp.(suse image is in win2000 pc)

the error message " no kernel images found"

i think suse linux image is no problem, because i download it from suse ftp
server.

so, i first installed redhat linux image on z/vm ,and make a
directory

and then, i upload suse image on redhat linux server

i tried to install suse again ,finally i succeed it

i dont understand , two images are same !!

anyone has same problem?
