I'd like to gently disagree. Editors like NoteTab Pro have the usability and "closeness to the metal" that Notepad has, but they're context-aware and can be built (much after the manner of your own Assembler macro library) into very powerful tools indeed. Use the validators with caution. I had a big problem with several of my pages about six months back - W3C passed them all as conforming to 4.01 Transitional. but Google wouldn't index them. My service provider (1UND1/Puretec in Germany) has a suite that instantly found an unclosed "description" metatag. Advice about validators - use them often, and use them all. -- Phil Payne http://www.isham-research.com +44 7785 302 803 +49 173 6242039
