Hi all, has anyone tried to build the 2.4.19 plain kernel with the Ingo Molnar O(1) scheduler patch and the IBM May 2002 Stream patches? I was able to apply the patches but the build failed due to differences in the task_struct structure of the scheduler (changed by the O(1) patch). I would like to see if the new scheduler can produce any improvement also in the 390 systems as in the Intel machine (I saw a great boost in performance with Java on Intel). That patch should be in the 2.4.19-ac series of the kernel also with some specific fixes for S390 from Pete Zaitcev (RH).
