Hi,
if you are running under VM, could you please check if you have all
available PTFs applied?
Linux got a cc=2 on chsc, this means
(a) machine checks from the channel subsystems can't be processed (for
example, link incidents)
(b) you might have problems with qeth (especially HiperSockets)
There was a VM bug which caused this, but I can't remember offhand the APAR
number... anyway, this has been fixed for some time.
Mit freundlichen Gren/Regards

| Subject: kernel 2.4.19 error
|

>---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
I have built a new 2.4.19 kernel from following files
linux-2.4.19.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-1-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-2-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-kerntypes-may2002.tar.gz
When booting the new kernel I get the following error message
chsc_get_sch_descriptions: Error -16 while doing chsc; processing some
machine checks may not work
the boot continue and the system seems to work properly
Do anyone know what cause that error and how to correct it.
