I am not sure what the ELC2 microcode responds to a query regarding the machine type. I would expect it to be 8232 an not 3172 and hence the problem I am seeing. Bustech support told me that they have had some people using the box under linux but they have not done an announcement regarding it's support. I will contact them and find out what the microcode does. Thanks for your help. Aria.
