S/390" is "Device Names in Linux". Totally skipped over it...
Debian boots now.

Debian uses DevFS on S/390 so the device files are named
/dev/dasd/xxxx/* instead of /dev/dasd[a-z]*. xxxx is the device number,
e.g. 0151.

Try fdasd /dev/dasd/0151/disc
