It's much worse.  At least one current end user license permits the vendor to use all
appropriate means - physical and electronic - to verify that the terms of their 
license are
being complied with.  So if they come into your network, or their stuff calls home, or 
they
turn up at your front door and demand admittance - you've agreed to that.
