IPLing from RDR has some advantages - we use common kernel images across
dozens of servers here, and can change them just by changing the kernel
image file on CMS (vs. setting each server.)

If spool space is a problem for you, the kernel and parmlines are only
needed to actually boot - using the hcp module you can do a rdr purge
and get rid of them as one of the last steps of your boot scripts.
There shouldn't be any ill effects.
