Jim,

The port number is most likely part of the parms in /etc/chandev.conf

Subject: I think I have the IP stuff figured out...one question remains

Lpar 1 uses devices 830 and 831 and port 0 of an ENTR card. LPAR 2 is using
devices 832 and 833 and port 1.

I have been able to see where to change all the other TCP/IP configuration
stuff except the device numbers and port number. LPAR 2 should ideally be
moved to LPAR 1 (or they have to re-configure the switch I'm in, OR I move
the cables on the ENTR... Hmm... there's a thought). What do I use to
change the hardware address information for the ENTR card so it will
configure onto port 0?

LPAR 1 is on disk that is leaving the building in about a week, and was a
Suse 7.0 kdistro . I built lpar 2 under Suse 7.2 with CDL etc, but
obviously couldn't use the same TCP/IP info without taking down the quasi
prod lpar.

Any ideas?
