Hey Rich, It was sort of intended to be all over the map, I wanted a broad perspective of what the rest of the community was seeing. I understand that smaller servlets will respond faster than larger, more complex, ones but carrying the overhead of the java environment was of more interest to me when I originally posted this. I'm looking for some real-world input on the performance of WAS (e.g. expect the zzz servlet to run a little leaner on xxx platform and/or a bit faster on yyy platfor). There is a chance that I am going to need to post this elsewhere as well, the response was a little light here and I'm thinking that more info might be available in a group highly focused on Java. If I find any interesting results, I'll be sure to post them here. Thanks to all that replied, Steve
