THE (The Hessling Editor) plus some macros can be forced to "look like" XEDIT. It is NOT XEDIT, or SPF either. > 2. Is there some sort of "Xedit for dummies" or "Xedit for > the vi user"? > Is there a one page cheat sheet? The full power of XEDIT requires a 300+ page manual to even describe, let alone simplify. The best introduction I know is the XEDIT Users Guide, or the CMS Users Guide. both are a pretty good "how-to" and have good "teach me" sections. There is a XEDIT reference card that lists most of the commonly used stuff. You can order it from your local IBM type. You also should have a look at the CMS Application Developers guide for a more integrated picture of how the development cycle works in CMS; it's helpful to see how all the pieces fit at a higher level. The manuals listed above are available online in PDF from www.vm.ibm.com/library. I don't think the refcards are online, but they're cheap. -- db
