Mr. Nit Picky sez that Jones' EXEC does exactly the right thing. There is no reason to CMS FORMAT an FBA volume. Unless you're using the RESERVED method (which you don't need for FBA) the only thing CMS FORMAT does for Linux is pre-allocate 4K blocks. With FBA the blocks are 512 bytes and are always allocated, so there is no need for the "low level format" function. So Jones' EXEC wisely skips FORMAT and goes directly to the heart of the problem: put a swap signature on the media. -- RMT
