I run it both under RedHat Linux 7.3 and under WinXP Pro. The behavior is the same in both, and I think it is a function of the linux kernel translations conflicting with the hercules default translations.

I think knowing what code pages the kernel uses will help resolve the issue. When running linux-390 under hercules, one will have to select the right code page translation, which may not be the same one used for retro-computing with VM/370 R6 or MVS3.8j. --------------------------------------------------------- Peter J.
