Hmmm. If there are people knocking around with THAT much time on their hands, it's no wonder open source projects are doing well. Good email clients can be configured to omit these responses to list mail. Perhaps it would help if the Linux mailing list set some of the headers, such as "Precedence: list" and low priority to give some of them a clue.
