OK, I'm setting up our Sles 8 for cloning and am reading the performance Redbook about DIAG vs. ECKD. It's pretty clear that DIAG is a good thing for swap. How about for regular disks? It doesn't seem like there is a clear answer in the redbook. Any real world experience?
As an aside, if you are using the DIAG, you don't dasdfmt and fdasd, right? Just mke2fs or mkreiserfs it I assume. Marcy Cortes Wells Fargo Services Co
