The choice of Linux distributions is much like the choice of editors, or the mac-vs-pc 
or linux-vs-unix issues. Any discussion will just get you into "holy wars" over what 
is the "one true way".  Get as many free downloads as you can find, try them all, and 
use what works best for you.
