Umm, no.  That's what started this whole thread.  Mainframe clocks drift as
much as, if not more than, PC clocks, and are just as dependent on the
"operator" to get it right in the first place.  That's why sysplex timers,
etc. are important.

It wouldn't neccessarily make sense to use the TOD clock like that.
S/390 differs from the PC I guess in that the TOD clock is probably
vaguely accurate.

Even then you'd want to query the TOD clock and use it as an NTP source
to lock the software clock.
