Some time ago I read a book whose name and author I've long-forgotten, but the book's name was taken from a "game" played by rival gangs in NY. The main character at one time adopted the name of an Irish poet (he spent some time in Ireland and got involved in local "politics"). He also spent quite sime time in the hippy area(s) of SF where he was something of a leader of the hippies, and was involved in providing free food to the hippies. It struck me when reading the book that there were many similarities of between the philosophies of this character and those of the FSF, though I've no doubt the FSF has more respect for the law. This sounds like the bloke: http://www.bohemiabooks.com.au/eblinks/spirboho/modern/psych/Grogan/grogan.html This might even be part of the book: http://www.diggers.org/ringolevio/ -- Cheers John.
