I'm infatuated with Knoppix Linux. I agree with the person that mentioned if you want to learn Linux almost any distro will do. Knoppix would be a great learning tool if your laptop already has an OS on it that you don't want to depart with because it runs off of the CD but you can still write to the hard drive.
