ClearCase works well SuSE7(Z/VM/IIFL) . The last test we did we
installed l the Kernel timer-patch and it has problem of coming up.
You need to check with ClearCase if it support SuSE8. Otherwise you
should not have any problem.

We did have a NFS issue when testing ClearCase(not a ClearCase problem)
with read/write files thru NFS (going to mult-router about 10 hops).
The problem is cause by a router that does not support IP datagram in
the sequence of last datagram going out first...
If your planing to use NFS and ClearCase hangs, then you should try to
set the rsize and wsize to 1024 less than 1500 of MTU
or set to TCP - look under NFS using UDP fragmentation (DF).

Hi All

We are currently investigating the possibility of running ClearCase on the
S/390 platform under Linux (later under Z/VM).

The partition have already been created and we are in the process of
conducting tests.

Can anyone please help with possible pitfalls as well as stats on resource
usage (MIPS, Memory, etc.)

Thanks

Sarel Swanepoel
