Since SuSE works from a unified code base, I would suggest you download the
e2fsprogs source RPM for their latest Intel platform, install it, and then
and do an "rpm -bb" command on the spec file.  The build may fail in various
ways, but you have a better chance of getting something SuSE compatible that
way.

I wanted to convert my ext2 filesystems on one linux guest from ext2 ->
ext3 by using the tune2fs tool.  However the version installed by SLES7
doesn't have the -j option and I couldn't find a newer version on the SDB
site.

Does anyone know if it's safe to just dl'd the source and compile the
newer release of the e2fsprogs stuff or if there is more to it than that?
