Most times when I use halt, it's because I don't want the filesystem later, and then I do this: /sbin/halt -f -n What does '-f' mean? Why, "... don't call shutdown(8)." Actually, I fibbed a little. I'm more likely to use /sbin/reboot than /sbin/halt. -- Cheers John.
