For those who are interested in things PL/I, there's a project on Sourceforge that is providing a PL/I frontend to GCC. There appears to be only one developer working on it at the moment but he seems to be making progress. The project is located at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pl1gcc.
(BTW, I found an OpenRPG project but, alas (or no), it is for Role Playing Games.)
