I'm getting a strange behaviour from GPL qeth ($Revision: 1.337.4.5 $). I've got vanilla 2.4.21 kernel and applied all "june 2003 stream" patches. When I ipl my "linux instance" everything looks ok, eth0 apparently goes up with a given IP. The problem is than I can't ping neither access this interface from wired network. Looking around /var/log/messages, there's a log:
Aug 7 11:51:31 dirc1 kernel: qeth: setip : return code 0xe00a (dup network ip address) Aug 7 11:51:31 dirc1 kernel: qeth: was not able to set ip 0a6501c9/ff000000 on irq x1, trying to continue
I'm sure there's no other box with the given IP address. The odd thing is when I:
ifconfig eth0 down ifconfig eth0 10.101.1.201 netmask 255.0.0.0
Everything works! I can access this linux instance from the network. Looks like a little bug...
Any help or comments?
bests regards
