Hi Alex,

Two things I can think of.

1st- Terse is an IBM Service Tools offered to Mainframe customer to permit
the compression/decompression of PTFs. If I recall correctly the records
of the input file to be de-terse must be Fixed Length of exactly 1024 byte
long. Again if I remember well, the last record is padded to 1024. I
presume that your PTF should be made of fixed length records of each 80
bytes. You could copy your actual file into a file with record length of
1024 and try it again.

2nd- If you need help with this tool, you could ask the ISC (IBM Support
Centre) which should be able to help you.

Best regards.

OT: deterse

Hi all, im asking this here because i cant find info anywhere, so excuse
me, im tryin to apply some ptf's to our zvm, i've downloaded via ftp
from ibm the following files (after receiving the mail):

VLST5553 BIN A1
VLST3730 BIN A1
VLST5371 BIN A1
VLST5465 BIN A1
VPTF3730 BIN A1
VPTF5371 BIN A1
VPTF5465 BIN A1
VPTF5553 BIN A1

then, i want to deterse them, so deterse returns:

deterse
The correct form is:
DETERSE ifn ift ifm ofn oft ofm < ( <options> >
Where options can be:
REPLACE, RESPECT

then:

deterse VLST5553 BIN a VLST5553 servlink a
Ready(01001); T=0.01/0.01 11:14:50

but i cant find VLST5553 servlink a anywhere, whats wrong?

thanks
