If by "system reset" you mean recycling the LPAR, doesn't that generate the SHUTDOWN signal? If so, then there is support for dealing with that (that's what the VM SIGNAL SHUTDOWN code emulates). The only cure for someone who does IPL xxx CLEAR on a running system is cold water and a one-way trip to Wisconsin in November. Even the dumbest console monkey can be trained out of that habit, given proper negative reinforcement...8-) -- db
