There is a link to the PDF version on the same page as the link to the HTML version: http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/installmanual However, if you're looking for information on how to do the usual sorts of things once the system is up and running, the installation manual probably isn't the right document. Try the APT HOWTO: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/apt-howto/ There is a PDF version of that one as well, which is linked from this page: http://www.debian.org/doc/user-manuals (which is an index of much of the Debian documentation available) There is also this short document that I wrote: http://people.debian.org/~mdz/debian-for-unix-users.html/ which is a crash course in the Debian packaging system aimed at users who are familiar with Unix-like operating systems and, ideally, packaging systems in general as well. There is not currently a PDF available, but if I ever get around to working on it again, I can easily generate one from the SGML source. -- - mdz
