On the bootable CD images from SuSE for rel 7.2, where you can load from
the HMC..., there is a problem on disk 1 with the kernel not supporting
3390-9's - but the patch CD, disk 3, has a kernel that will handle them. If
I were to copy these images to disk can I put the correct kernal in and
burn my own cd , or is it a compressed image that is simply loaded into
memory by the HMC.

If I have the vendor staff IPL a rescue system from a CD, I want it to have
a couple things that are currently missing from the initrd, plus the
improved kernal. If there are roll your own IPLable CD instructions out
there....

IPL a rescue system, attach the disks in the right places, run zipl?
