You might want to consider XCOM as an alternative to FTP. It will allow file transfers between LINUX S/390, LINUX INTEL, UNIX, WINDOWS, Z/OS, VSE/ESA, and other platforms.
A few points: -- we will notify you if the transfer completed, failed, or is in process. -- You may utilize the common compression algorithms available for transferring data between disparate platforms. -- security interfaces included to TOP SECRET, ACF2, RACF -- load balancing capability on the Z/OS side...(ability to route transfers to the appropriate server based on workload) -- transfers can be scheduled at various dates/times through scheduling facilities in the product or from various scheduling packages -- transfer can be invoked from an application program -- encryption will be added into the product in a future release This may or may not be what you are looking for, but if you wish some more technical info about this, I'd be happy to send such information to you. For example, it can be configured to run a command/script every time a file upload completes. ~ Daniel > -----Original Message----- > From: CGVMER [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, September 08, 2003 11:30 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: FTP server > > > We are looking to for an FTP server for our linux/z system.
