I would expect the SPECIAL statement with a specific LAN identity to work
during LOGON processing. There are a couple of general possibilities to
check:

(1) Are you sure the LAN is identified properly on the SPECIAL statement?
The tokens are OWNERID and LANNAME. Watch for typos like "O" and "0"
interchanged.

(2) Is the LAN created by a CP DEFINE command? If so, there could be
a race between TCPIP logon processing and the PROFILE EXEC processing
of the user who defines the LAN. If TCPIP was the user who defined the
LAN,
you would be guaranteed that this would fail the first time, but it should
work
if you logoff TCPIP and log it back on.

Dennis
