What does your /boot directory look like?

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 41 Apr 14 15:21 parmfile
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 14 15:27 zipl/

As you can see, mine has a symbolic link of "kernel" pointing to k_timer,
and not k_deflt.

Subject: K_timer SLES7 help

I think I have installed the RPM to disable the timer pop under z/vm 4.3
on an IFL. The rpm I have installed is k_timer-2.4.7-89, and I have
re-run zipl and rebooted. When I run uname it doesn't show up. Any
ideas?
