I have just been asked by a group of developers and business owners if we move their application to the Mainframe (zLinux), can we provide a HA environment? This would be application HA such as available with Veritas Cluster on x86 Linux systems or Solaris and Veritas etc. . .
So clearly my question to the group is does such software (solutions) exist for the Z/VM Linux platform? Is anyone doing this today? And if not how can we make this happen? Regardless of how reliable the zSeries Platform is and how reliable Z/VM is we still can not guarantee application, DB, network, HD availability.
