Steve,

What version of Red Hat is this? 7.2? RHEL3? In any case, loader is the
graphical installer. It needs to be able to open an X session with your X
server, which should be running on your desktop (I'm assuming). If you're
using SSH to come in, the DISPLAY environment variable should be set for
you. For Teraterm, make sure you have X11 forwarding enabled (Setup->SSH
Forwarding->X Forwarding). If you're using telnet (DON'T!), you'll need to
set it yourself. Plus, of course, make sure you have an X server running.

Subject: LOADER question

I have been able to IPL the install Linux and am trying to get LOADER to
run. When I try to run it, it just returns me to a bash prompt. I have
tried using PCOM and TERATERM. Do I need some special settings? Is
LOADER looking for a specific type of terminal?
Thanks,
Steve Gentry
