Okay one more question has arisen from this... and I'll preface the
situation thus:
WebSphere on z/Linux is kicking the pants off WebSphere on os/390. I got
the DB2 runtime client to work on linux2 to talk to db2 connect on linux1,
but now I'm being asked is there a DB2 connect runtime client for os/390?
They want to see if there is a bottleneck in how we have DB2-DB2
communication set up, vs using DB2 connect. I'm not sure this will buy
anything, as the problem appears to be in the OS/390 version of
websphere.... does anyone have any comparisons between the z/linux version
and the os/390 version? Just trying to see what, if anything, we can do
about it.

Install the DB2 Run Time Client on the WebSphere machine and configure
it to access DB2/Connect.
