You can also use a native z/VM SNTP server to sync both your Linux guests and your external W2K boxes to within subsecond accuracy. This approach insures that all of the operating systems have (very nearly) the same time, including the z/VM host. One z/VM native SNTP server can be downloaded (for free!) off of the IBM VM download site at: http://www.vm.ibm.com/download/packages. Look for the TIMESERV package.
