Yes David, it will be valuable and informative.
But I don't understand your note.

I did pull the information from VM Resources. The class that you
refer to would be an EXCELLENT class for those new to VM Systems
programming or need a refressher after having been away. And
these days, there are many of both.

David Kreuter is definitely an excellent and knowledgeable
instructor, but I wouldn't call his 1/2 day module of his class
a class on VM performance. It's more of an introduction. Here is
his abstract of the performance course module if anyone would
like to check it out.

> At the end of this 1/2 day module
>1.An overview of z/VM subsystems
>2.An overview of the z/VM dispatcher
>3.An overview of the z/VM scheduler
>4.Sources of performance data
>5.Viewing performance data with CP console function
>6.Using the IBM Real Time Monitor to analyze perform

So we're not going back to the "poor sods" discussion are we?

Re the "bunch of ex-Amdahl folks" at mainline. The only VM instructor
at Amdahl in the VM/ESA days was Marty Zimelis, now at CA, but
who taught the class for Velocity Software for many years. If
you can provide a reference to someone, I would appreciate it.
I myself don't like to spread misinformation.

Oh, and in regards to SHARE, yes, SHARE is also very good
education, as is CMG. Neither would fit the description of
a class on VM performance though.
